Insight Credit Union donates thousands of school supplies for Central Florida students
ORLANDO, FL (August 20, 2015) – During Insight Credit Union’s 2nd Annual Back to School Supply Drive, members and employees donated thousands of school supplies for Central Florida students in need.
The Back to School Supply Drive was created in an effort to provide students with the school supplies they need to succeed in school. Members and employees donated pens, pencils, binders, calculators, rulers, backpacks and many other items during the summer.
Proceeds from the school supply drive benefited local schools and charities in Central Florida, including Heart of Florida United Way, United Way of Citrus County, United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties, Red for Ed (Lake County School District) and the Public Education Foundation of Marion County.
“Insight is committed to improving the well-being of the community and giving back to those in need. We are passionate about education and believe that every student deserves to start the school year with the basic supplies they need,” said George Davis, president and CEO of Insight Credit Union. “We are so thankful for everyone who donated to support the education of less fortunate students.”
