Insight Credit Union supports local veterans during 18th Annual Valentines for Veterans
ORLANDO, FL (February 22, 2016) – Insight Credit Union collected nearly 1,000 items and hundreds of handmade valentines as a special Valentine’s Day surprise for veterans at the Orlando VA Medical Center.
Every year, Insight employees and members donate toiletries, socks, t-shirts, books, puzzles and other items for veterans who are being treated at a local VA hospital. In addition, Insight partners with Central Florida elementary schools to collect Valentine’s Day cards and crafts made by students.
Valentines for Veterans was created to support the Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Salute to Veteran Patients Program. This initiative, occurring every year during the week of February 14, encourages the community to show appreciation for veterans and increases awareness of VA medical centers. Insight has participated in the program for the past 18 years and has encouraged students to get involved for the past eight years.
“Insight is proud to support our local veterans and show them how much we value their service to our country,” said George Davis, president and CEO of Insight Credit Union. “We are so thankful for the generous employees, members and students who made this year’s Valentines for Veterans a success!”
